Travel Warnings
Whilst exploring the world is fun and exciting, we sometimes find ourselves in countries that might be less than hospitable towards open-minded travellers like us.
Poland - It should be noted that, following a rise in gay bashings and public demonstrations of homophobia, by both the population and the government, Poland is increasingly considered an unfriendly destination for gay and lesbian travellers. We will update you when this changes.
The following destinations have laws that could result in the death penalty for homosexual activity.
- Iran
- Mauritania
- Saudi Arabia
- Sudan
- United Arab Emirates
- Yemen
Whilst many countries in that list are not common tourist destinations, it is worth reading on to find out about the laws in countries that you are more likely to visit.
Gay Tourism and the Law
The following list of countries have some prehistoric criminal laws against sexual activities between consenting adults of the same sex.
Africa:
Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Asia:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
Central and South America:
Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Costa Rica, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago
Europe:
Chechnya
Middle East:
